President Yoon Suk Yeol, on a visit to India from Sept. 9-10 to attend the Group of 20 Summit, has held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on bilateral cooperation in areas such as the defense industry and supply chains.

Given the increasing importance of cooperation in core technologies among countries that share the same values, the two sides also agreed to raise cooperation in space based on their excellent space development capacities as seen in Korea's launch of the space rocket Nuri in May and the landing of India's Chandrayaan-3 lunar probe on the moon's south pole last month.
President Yoon and Prime Minister Modi also agreed to advance negotiations to upgrade the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, a de facto free trade deal between the two countries.

At the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)-ROK (Republic of Korea) Summit on Sept. 6 at Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, the Indonesian capital, President Yoon Suk Yeol said, "Based on full support for the regional structure led by ASEAN, the three countries of Korea, the U.S. and Japan decided to finetune their respective Indo-Pacific strategies and seek new areas of cooperation."

"To this end, Korea, the U.S. and Japan launched an annual trilateral Indo-Pacific dialogue and maritime security cooperation framework to support the security capacity of ASEAN and Pacific Island countries."

President Yoon Suk Yeol on Sept. 6 attended the 26th ASEAN Plus Three Summit at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, the Indonesian capital, to discuss cooperation between ASEAN and Seoul and that between ASEAN and Korea, China and Japan with the leaders of nine ASEAN member states including the chair country Indonesia, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Chinese Premier Li Qiang. 

"We plan to closely communicate with the Japanese and Chinese governments to resume as soon as possible trilateral cooperation mechanisms like three-way summits," President Yoon said. "Because we recently opened a new chapter in trilateral cooperation among Seoul, Washington and Tokyo through improved ties between Korea and Japan, the invigoration of trilateral cooperation among Korea, Japan and China will serve as a stepping stone for ASEAN Plus Three cooperation to achieve major progress."

After his bilateral summit with the U.S. and trilateral conference with Washington and Tokyo, President Yoon Suk Yeol on Aug. 18 held a bilateral summit with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
The two leaders pledged to promote bilateral and trilateral cooperation to counter North Korea's escalating nuclear and missile threats, with the three countries to hold close coordination to implement United Nations Security Council resolutions on Pyeongyang.
Korea and Japan also welcomed the rapid normalization of cooperation not just in national security but also economy and finance, agreeing to resume a high-level economic consultative meeting in the latter half of the year and hold strategic dialogue between vice foreign ministers.

At the joint news conference of the trilateral summit with U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Minister Fumio Kishida at Camp David, President Yoon Suk Yeol on Aug. 18 said, "Grounded in the core values of freedom, human rights, and the rule of law, a strong alliance of values among Korea, the U.S., and Japan will help build a world that's more peaceful and prosperous by serving as a sturdy foundation."
The three leaders agreed on the Principles of Camp David, which will function as guidelines for trilateral cooperation, and developed the Spirit of Camp David, a document embodying the vision of trilateral cooperation and ways to put their will to cooperate into action. 

They also agreed to step up security cooperation to ensure their peoples' safety and peace in the region based on the now institutionalized Cooperation Framework. 

In countering the DPRK's (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) nuclear and missile threats, the three leaders agreed the trilateral defense exercises were crucial. As a result, they said annual plans will be established for the ROK (Republic of Korea), U.S., and Japan drills they committed to.

President Yoon Suk Yeol on Aug. 18 held a bilateral summit with U.S. President Joe Biden before their trilateral summit with Japan at the U.S. presidential retreat of Camp David in Maryland. Both presidents discussed boosting their bilateral alliance, regional issues on the Korean Peninsula and in the Indo-Pacific region, and those of the world.

Both leaders hailed the launch of their Nuclear Consultative Group and deployment of U.S. strategic nuclear submarines to the peninsula as showing "faithful understanding" of the bilateral Washington Declaration, which was adopted in April. The two sides also decided to continue close cooperation to strengthen their extended deterrence, with President Biden reaffirming his country's commitment of ironclad defense and extended deterrence to Korea.

President Yoon Suk Yeol and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy on July 15 held summit talks in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv and agreed on the new Ukraine Peace and Solidarity Initiative. President Yoon and first lady Kim Keon Hee made a surprise visit to the war-torn country after completing their official visit to Poland.

President Yoon Suk Yeol on July 13 held a bilateral summit with Polish President Andrzej Duda in the Polish capital of Warsaw. Earlier in the day, President Yoon attended a luncheon hosted by Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki to discuss bilateral cooperation.
